Disaster Relief

Below are some of the ways the company and its employees have helped the victims of Hurricane Katrina, which devastated the gulf coast in late August 2005.

Delivery of Relief Items for St. Landry

ABX Air assisted in collecting relief items for over 1,000 people displaced by Hurricane Katrina who sheltered in the town of Opelousas, Louisiana [map], in the parish of St. Landry, nearly 1,000 miles from Wilmington, Ohio. From Sept. 13-25, 2005, donations were collected at ABX Air's remote parking lot on Airborne Road. The items were then shipped to Opelousas. [updated 1/4/06]

ABX Air also donated a large amount of bottled water to victims of Hurricane Katrina and the response workers assisting them. The water was shipped with truckloads of other supplies being donated by those in the Wilmington, Ohio area. [updated 9/28/05]
