ABX AIR TO BE AIRLINE SPONSOR OF THE 2008 ACPC
Air Carriers Purchasing Conference in Chicago in August

WILMINGTON, OH - March 12, 2008 - ABX Air will be the airline sponsor for the 2008 Air Carriers Purchasing Conference (ACPC). For over 50 years, this conference has worked to bring airlines and suppliers together for business networking.

"The ACPC is a leading conference in the industry and we are excited to be the airline sponsor this year," said ABX Air Director of Airline Engine Procurement Bill Brown. "We get to talk to many of our suppliers, as well as share best practices with other airlines."

Located in Chicago this year, the conference starts on Saturday, Aug. 23 and runs through Tuesday, Aug. 26. The conference offers numerous breakout sessions dealing in issues critical to the airline industry, in addition to bringing out new ideas and concepts that will enlighten individuals to become more effective on the job. It offers a forum called Round Table Sessions, which are ten minute meetings, scheduled over eight hours that enable suppliers to schedule and meet one-on-one with the airline attendees of their choice. These meetings are the core ingredients that have made the conference so successful.

In 2001, the ACPC added a new venue called the Aviation Networking Forum. This forum provides the opportunity for Suppliers to rent a table at a nominal cost. The purpose was to create an environment to meet and greet airlines and other suppliers. This year the ACPC will introduce a new venue called the Supplier to Supplier Sessions. This venue will provide opportunities for Supplier Companies, such as MRO’s and other non-airline companies who are seeking to outsource service and parts, to receive appointments from Supplier Companies seeking to do business with their companies.

ABX Air is presenting one of the breakout/education sessions this year on Six Sigma. It is an introduction to Lean/Six Sigma concepts complete with an exercise demonstrating the ability to reduce variability in daily processes. They will present this twice, as this topic commanded a full-house at last year’s conference.

Tom Wagner, Vice President for of Sales and Support at Northwest Aviation Services Group is the 2008 Supplier Chair. Jeff Crosby, Vice President of the Airframe Division at Jet International Co. LLC will be serving as Vice Chair, Jeanne Rau-Flattery, President of Aero Express/Millennium International will be serving as Secretary and Connie Schaeffer, Business Manager for the ACPC, along with Brown at ABX Air are the core group for the planning of this year’s conference. The conference is also supported by numerous other volunteer coordinators from various aviation industry companies.

The advantage of attending this conference for the airlines is the ability to meet more than 790 supplier companies in one setting. Over 85 airlines attended the conference in 2007. They also have the opportunity to meet their peers from other airlines and discuss issues, which are of interest and develop relationships that may prove vital in solving everyday problems.

Suppliers have the opportunity to meet airline representatives from all over the world. They take advantage of the low conference fee and introduce their company to airlines that may be too costly to travel to. Suppliers also have the opportunity to meet other companies that might be developed as potential customers.

"There are many people involved in planning many activities for the conference," said Brown. "We want to work hard and get some business contacts made, but they are also planning for some fun."
