ROBERT GRAY PROMOTED AT ABX AIR, INC. WILMINGTON, Ohio - Feb. 28, 2006 - Robert Gray was promoted to Vice President of Regulatory Compliance and Government Affairs for ABX Air, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABXA) He most recently has been Senior Director of Regulatory Compliance and Government Affairs. “Bob will be serving as the Company Compliance officer, responsible for the overall compliance of the company’s operating policies and procedures, as well as all federal regulations pertaining to Airline Operations,” said Joe Hete, President and CEO at ABX Air. “Bob will also continue to act as the Director of Safety.” |

Gray joined ABX Air in December of 1979 as a Dispatcher in the Flight Department. He was promoted to Manager of Crew Scheduling and then named Director of Operational Control. He served as Senior Director of Operational Safety and Planning from 1997 to 2003. A three-time presenter/speaker at FAA
workshops on Risk Analysis and Safety Performance Measurement in
Aviation, Gray was also a recent member of the FAA’s Air Carrier
Operations System Model development team and is currently
working with the FAA as a member of the Safety Management
Systems Focus Group. Additionally, he is a member of the Air
Transport Association’s (ATA) Safety Council and Security
Council, and sits on the board of directors for the Cargo
Airline Association. |

Prior to ABX Air, Gray earned
a Bachelor’s degree from Miami University, and an MBA from the
University of Dayton. Before joining ABX in 1979, Bob taught in
the public schools.
