ABX AIR TOP TEAM IN OHIO’S RELAY FOR LIFE Team ABX raised over $70,000 for the American Cancer Society
WILMINGTON, OH - Nov. 4, 2005 - The ABX
Air (NASDAQ-NM:ABXA) Relay for Life team officially was recognized
at a recent dinner ceremony as the top team in Ohio, raising more
money than any other Relay for Life team. |

“We had a great team again this year and a lot of support from ABX and the community,” said Cindy Wilson, ABX Air team co-captain. “Not only was ABX the top team in Ohio, we are in the top 10 nationwide,” added Janell Smart, also an ABX Air team co-captain. Four of the nation’s top teams were from Ohio, making it the division with the most of these outstanding teams. The ABX Air Team works all year to
promote the cause and raise money for their team. By holding pancake
breakfasts, craft sales and other events, as well as collecting
pledges for walking in the Relay for Life event, the team gets the
whole ABX family involved in raising funds for the American Cancer
Society (ACS). Additionally, funds donated by employees to the ACS
as part of the company’s fall charity drive go to the team’s funds –
a strategy the ACS is promoting to other companies this year. |

“This is truly a company-wide effort led by a strong team of dedicated
volunteers,” said ABX Air President and CEO
Joe Hete. “We are proud of their efforts and their accomplishments.”
The ABX Air Relay for Life team is comprised of two co-captains and 13 team members. They are already working toward next year’s Relay event to be held in June next year at the Clinton County Fair Grounds. Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of the American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
