MANIBUSAN EARNS NUTS AND BOLTS AWARD
ATA Recognizes Leaders in Aviation

 
WILMINGTON, OH - May 25, 2005 – Dennis Manibusan, Senior Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering at ABX Air, accepted the Nuts and Bolts Award from the Air Transport Association (ATA) at the 2005 Aviation Week/ATA Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) conference held last month in Dallas, Texas.

According to the ATA, the award recognizes individuals in both the airline and non-airline categories. Each award honors outstanding service and contributions to the airline industry over an extended period. The winners of the awards in both categories represent the individuals who have gone the extra mile and succeeded in improving the system or component processes related to airline engineering, maintenance or materiel management.
 

Manibusan received the award in recognition of his leadership in the airline industry over the past 20 years. As ABX Air’s representative to the ATA’s Engineering, Maintenance and Materiel Council (EMMC), Manibusan served as vice chairman (2001-2002) and then chairman (2002-2003) of the EMMC. In addition to ABX Air, he has worked at Ozark Airlines, Continental Airlines and Alaska Airlines where he held management and executive positions.

“I am very honored to receive this prestigious award from my peers in the airline industry, many of whom I have worked closely with throughout my airline career,” said Manibusan.

While the award recognizes an individual, the company also receives recognition. The ATA realizes that leaders who go the extra mile are supported by companies who encourage their employees to do this.
 
The award was first given in 1967, and from that time forward the ATA has recognized one or two individuals each year. It was designed to recognize individuals in both the airline and non-airline categories who demonstrated outstanding service and contributions to the airline industry over an extended period.
