LUECK RECOGNIZED FOR 30 YEARS OF CSP CERTIFICATION

WILMINGTON, OH - October 9, 2008 - Michael Lueck of ABX Air, Inc., was honored recently by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Lueck has held his Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification for 30 years. The CSP certification is the premier credential for safety professionals.

The BCSP is recognized as the leader in high-quality credentialing for safety, health and environmental practitioners in order to enhance the safety of people, property, and the environment. BCSP establishes standards for and verifies minimum competency in professional safety practice.

To qualify as a CSP, candidates must have either an associate degree in safety and health or a bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the U.S. Department of Education. Additionally, the candidate should have a full-time, professional-level position where the primary responsibility is the prevention of harm to people, property and the environment, and among other things, duties should include reliance by others on analysis and recommendations regarding hazard recognition, as well as evaluation and analysis. Finally, candidates need to pass the CSP’s Safety Fundamentals and/or Comprehensive Practice exams.

Lueck started with ABX Air in July of 1991 as a Safety Manager. He now leads ABX Air’s safety department of nine people, and there are 38 safety committees at ABX Air.
